Omolola Coker is a multidisciplinary Nigerian artist whose work explores layered narratives through portraiture and symbolic abstraction. Currently based in Lagos, Nigeria, her practice is evolving to include cultural preservation and revitalisation projects. With a growing calendar of exhibitions and projects, Omolola is seeking a passionate studio intern to support her expanding practice.
Role Summary
We are looking for a creative, proactive, and organised studio intern who is eager to gain experience in the arts and creative industries on a voluntary basis. The ideal candidate will support the day-to-day operations of the studio, contribute fresh ideas, and grow alongside an emerging artist. -
Admin & Communications
Draft and manage emails, meeting notes, and documents
Schedule meetings and maintain the artist's calendar
Draft marketing, communications, and website copy
Help develop and maintain newsletter outreach
Studio & Project Support
Assist with preparation and running of exhibitions, workshops, and events
Welcome and engage guests during studio events
Document and record visitor info for newsletters and engagement
Help with packing, collection, and delivery of artworks
Prepare purchase orders and assist with basic inventory management
Research & Materials
Conduct research on art techniques, project themes, and material sourcing
Source and quote materials from local markets
Contribute creative ideas during studio meetings
Support general studio tasks as needed

A creative and motivated individual with strong initiative
Excellent communication and organisational skills
An interest in contemporary African art, storytelling, or cultural preservation
A desire to learn and grow within the creative industry
Experience in visual arts or related fields is a plus, but not required

Flexible hybrid schedule (1–2 days/week in studio)
Transport and lunch stipend for in-office days
Exposure to professional art practices and event planning
Research, writing, and creative development experience
Opportunities to attend art events, openings, and network in the field
